Situation: Infinty batrep #1 – USAriadna vs Morats

Over this last weekend, I had planned an Infinity game day with my gaming team so we could play our Situation: Infinity homebrew campaign (which I posted on my other blog, but forgot to make sure it was also posted here. Until I get that taken care of, feel free to view the announcement post on Interminable Writing for some background on this project). Originally, we had a match planned for our ALEPH and Tohaa players, but unfortunately the artichokes weren’t able to make it to the party, so we decided to have Anthony, our Combined Army player, and me play a game instead.

The game was played with 200 points, and was a fairly straightforward deathmatch, with the caveat being that I had to keep a designated target (Rosie Munroe) alive through the whole game. Because Anthony is the least experienced member of our team, I had Eric (DeepThought) coach him through the process of building a list, and they chose to play with morats while I played my USAriadna.

A Kurage Report I Couldn’t Post

First of all, great work, to Combined Army and Tohaa players alike.  Overall, enthusiasm for this little campaign was low.  The campaign PDF gave almost no reason for either alien faction to be here, so given what we had to work with, I was glad to see some zeal from players on both sides of the alien aisle.  Thanks also to Graviton for your boundless enthusiasm, and apologies again that I could not play more.  Here’s one of the crazy reports I couldn’t post due to faction loyalties.

Planning for the Kurage Crisis

I am not on Facebook, and am out-of-the-loop on Tohaa plans.  During the last two campaigns, the leadership of the international Tohaa players decided to ally with Nomads, Ariadna, and Haqqislam, in an effort of perpetual revenge against Yu Jing, who attacked us and seized our hospital on Paradiso.  This year presents another opportunity for a new direction, although, being that Yu Jing is disheartened and weakened, we have opportunity to punish them further.  Can anyone tell me the plan?

Campaign News

The next global campaign is coming from Beasts of War, and there is some interesting news.  Here are the notes and art from the first video batch, if you have not been following Corvus Belli’s channels.  The campaign starts in a few days.

Closing Thoughts on Wotan

So, the Wotan campaign is done, and these are my thoughts on the campaign put on by Corvus Belli and Beasts of War.

Narrative

The Tohaa heard the distress call from their allies, the humans.  Wotan, a critical gate which jumped deep into humanity’s territory, was exposed.  A Daraani corvette rushed to Wotan and beheld a great fight.  But then, the Tohaa heard a message come from the Nomads:  “Aid us or lose your ship.”

The Nomads, longtime rebels of the two greatest nations of humanity, PanOceania and Yu Jing, was the instigator of the Wotan emergency.  It was reported that the Nomads were ferrying Shasvastii.  But the commander of the Daraani corvette winced.  “We submit.  Whom would you like us to strike?”

Wotan Propaganda Memo

Good day, arithcokes and artichettas of the Tohaa Master Race.  Today we begin the campaign in the “Wotan” sector, to bring to peace our allies, the Humans, who are meddling amidst themselves, heedless of the looming threat of the EI.  We are en route to the battlespace.
